Sustainability and the durability of the materials used played an important role in product development. We don't believe in products that are intentionally developed in such a way that they fall apart after a certain period of time. That's why we kept everything as simple and minimalist as possible without compromising on quality.

Mitten im Geschehen – statt am Rand
Mit dem Leener bleibst du auf Augenhöhe mit deinen Freunden – im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes. Während herkömmliche Campingstühle oder Hocker dich beim Picknick wortwörtlich herausheben und wie einen Fremdkörper am Rand wirken lassen, sitzt du mit dem Leener direkt auf der Decke – komfortabel und doch mittendrin.

The beach bag
Every order comes with a big beach bag made of 100% cotton canvas. It's large enough for up to two folded Leeners + e.g. a towel, a book, and some snacks.
Handmade in certified workshops
The wood, straps and fabric are mostly handmade in integrative workshops by people with disabilities. We try to source all materials from regional producers to minimize our CO2 footprint.
We cooperate with certified workshops that are committed to the integrative participation of people with disabilities and fulfill the socio-political and statutory mandate of rehabilitation.
Many of the wood pieces are manufactured in the Werkstätten für angepasste Arbeit in Düsseldorf. The WfaA is a recognized workshop for people with disabilities and a member of the Deutscher Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband.

The straps are cut and sewn by hand in the Werkstätten Karthaus in Dülmen. The workshops are part of the Anna-Katharinenstift Karthaus and enable people with disabilities to participate in working life.

The Leener’s tilt can be adjusted easily and smoothly using the strap sliders. You can set the angle according to your needs – from sitting upright to leaning back comfortably. This short video shows you how to adjust the inclination of your Leener in a few simple steps.
Yes, the wood of the Leener is made of untreated, solid beech wood. It is resistant to sun and sea salt, which do not damage the wood. Over time, it only darkens slightly and develops a natural, charming patina.
Clean the wood with a damp cloth.
The seat and straps can be removed for cleaning and washed at a maximum of 30 °C. For the seat, simply unscrew the lower round wood at one end and pull off the fabric.
Yes, the Leener is ideal for travel. It fits easily into a standard suitcase (checked luggage) and, at just 5 cm in height, takes up very little space. Its light weight of 900 g makes it the perfect travel companion. It doesn't fit into carry-on luggage, however.
